A warm and fuzzy moment . . .
I was looking at my kitten "Hebe" and loving on him and then I found myself saying to him right out loud - I knew you before you were born! When you were first born- as little gray mewing fuzzball. Before your eyes were open I came to the barn and loved on you. Before you saw me I saw you . . .and loved you.
Then a quiet voice reminded me of a scripture saying the same thing (Ps. 139 & Jer. 1:5). And I realized that God loves me a great deal more than I loved my kitten. It was truly a warm and fuzzy moment.
Follow the signs . . .
I was on my way to a doctor's appointment. It was already getting dark and I was coming from a direction I normally did not travel. So it was an understatement to say I was a little apprehensive. I am not a back-roads-driver and I was in the boonies. I really did not know where I was going and shortly I did not know where I was! I couldn't see far enough to see land marks ("the plume" or smoke stack on the cement plant) and there was no sun. To be in the dark with no sense of direction did not feel very good at all.
Then I saw a sign! It read "Saline-Milan Road." I was back in civilization! One way would take me to Saline and the other would take me to Milan! As I continued my trip into Milan I realized that signs are there for reason: They are put there by people who've gone before and left behind for other travelers - for providing guidance even in the dark! People follow them because they are true.
We've been left a lot of other signs. We follow street signs with such faith, well there are other signs that we need to take just as seriously - the directions given in scripture. Get out The Book. Heed it when it says: "This is the way. Walk ye in it." |
